We’re hiring a Cycling Education Assistant AND a Communications Assistant
Youth en Route is excited to announce that we’ve been awarded two Canada Summer Jobs student positions, each for 12 weeks.
One position is for a student communicator who can help tell our story in words and pictures to our communities using our web site and social media; in our annual report and more. The second position will be for an education, special education, kinesiology or recreational therapy student keen to work in a role supporting teachers responsible for a range of age groups and curriculum areas
We’re looking for self-starters who are enthusiastic about cycling, active travel, urbanism and youth. We are a small organization and will deliver an exceptional learning experience with tons of hands-on work that will build skills and portfolios. Come work with us!
About Youth en Route
Calgary-based Charity Youth en Route champions active travel to school and beyond. Focused on high school students, our work breaks down the barriers youth face when considering activemodes of travel. At some schools, it’s the lack of secure bike storage or a lock. At others, it’s a lack of skills and knowledge.
We bring a fleet of bikes, some helmets and locks, and we teach kids to ride. It’s the most rewarding thing you’ll ever be part of! We also have an adaptive bike program where we support special education students with trikes, and teachers with help to get students riding in class.
You’ll work to show kids the power, independence and benefits that come with bikes. And you’ll have a blast – guaranteed!
